3km LRF Module for Laser Distance Measurement

The Lumispot Tech ELRF-C16 is a compact and lightweight laser rangefinder module(distance measurement sensor), notable for being the smallest of its kind, weighing only 33g. It is a highly precise tool for measuring distances up to 3km, tailored for photoelectric systems where accuracy and reliability are paramount. This laser measurement sensor is eye safety-certified and offers a wide range of technical features.

Technical Features of The Laser Measurement Sensor:

The LRF module integrates an advanced laser, high-end transmitting and receiving optics, and a sophisticated control circuit. These components work together to provide a visible range of up to 6km and a vehicle ranging capability of at least 3km under ideal conditions.
It supports both single and continuous ranging, features range strobe and target indicators, and includes a self-inspection function for consistent performance.

Key Performance Attributes:

It operates at a precise wavelength of 1535nm±5nm and has a minimal laser divergence of ≤0.5mrad.
The ranging frequency is adjustable between 1~10Hz, and the module achieves a ranging accuracy of ≤±1m (RMS) with a ≥98% success rate.

Despite its powerful performance, it is energy-efficient with an average power consumption of <1.0W at 1Hz and a peak of 5.0W.

Operating Precautions

  • The module emits 1535 nm laser radiation that is Class-1 eye-safe. Nevertheless, deliberate direct eye exposure should be avoided.
  • Always cover the receive lens while aligning the three optical axes; excessive return energy can permanently destroy the detector.
  • The module is NOT hermetically sealed. Operate only in clean environments with relative humidity < 80 % to prevent laser damage.
  • Maximum range depends on atmospheric visibility and target reflectivity. Fog, rain, dust or sand reduce range. Highly reflective objects (green foliage, white walls, exposed limestone) increase range; large beam-to-target angles decrease it.
  • NEVER fire the laser at highly reflective targets such as glass or white walls within 15 m; the intense return pulse can destroy the APD.
  • NEVER connect or disconnect cables while the unit is powered.
  • Observe correct power-supply polarity; reversal will cause permanent damage.
